First Meeting of the English Club

Some students and ex-students of the EOI Embajadores will meet on Friday 20 at 18 h. in classroom 14 to create an English Club and develop activities that will improve our English so that we don’t forget it.

First, we will introduce ourselves and then we will show an episode of the BBC sitcom The Black Adder, Season 3, Ink and Incapability, only 30 minutes long. When the film ends, the meeting will begin.

You are welcome!!

INK AND INCAPABILITY

Samuel Johnson (Robbie Coltrane) seeks Prince George's patronage for his new book, A Dictionary of the English Language. The Prince seeking to amend his reputation as an "utter turnip-head" is interested, but Blackadder tries to turn him against the idea, condemning the dictionary as "the most pointless book since How to Learn French was translated into French". It soon emerges that Blackadder resents Johnson for apparently ignoring his novel Edmund: A Butler's Tale which, under the pseudonym of "Gertrude Perkins", he had secretly sent to Johnson in the hope that he would get it published.

Baldrick burns the only copy of Samuel Johnson's dictionary, and Blackadder has only one weekend to rewrite it.

Director: Mandie Fletcher
Stars: Rowan Atkinson, as Black Adder, Tony Robinson, as Baldrick and Hugh Laurie as Prince Georges
